GIA:

In 1961, Sir Vitthaldas Damodar Thakersy school was established with 66 girls. The first principal of the school was late Rashmikaben Desai. Initially the classes were operational in the building of Vanita Vishram. As the fame of  imparting education in Vanita Vishram started increasing ,the division of the classes too multiplied. In march 1965 school first batch gave S.S.C exam. Shrimati Prabhaben Mehta served as a principal from June 1969 to June 1971. As the same, from June 1971 to 1979 Shrimati Snehlataben Patel served as a principal. Due to 10 + 2 new education policy from 1972 higher secondary section ( commerce section ) was started .In 1978 school first batch gave H.S.C exam. In 1975 new school building was constructed, but due to constant increasing of strength of the students, as classrooms were less, arrangement was made for the higher secondary students to sit in Seth P.T Mahila college. Shrimati Sarlaben Desai was appointed as a principal in June 1979. Due to increasing number of students, the school was started into session. As number of students were increasing from June 1981 Shrimati Shardaben Shah was appointed as a second principal, As principal Shrimati Sarlaben Desai took voluntary retirement, from February 1986 Shrimati Shardaben Shah was appointed on the post of the principal. In 1986 standard 8 English medium class was started. First batch of English medium gave the  S.S.C exam in March 1989. From 1998 Shrimati Smitaben Desai was appointed as a principal. As increased in the number of classes, New classroom, Assembly hall, Craft room, Drawing room and for science stream three different practical lab was constructed for Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

In this way our school Sir Vitthaldas Damodar Thakersy school, every year should progress and reach at the highest peak. As it is girl school every girl should get the advantage of education, should progress in each and every profession and to become self employed for that in Vocational Stream from June 1988 in standard 11 pre-school and crash management subject was introduced. In the same stream from June 1990 one more class Commercial garment, Designing and making course was started. This provide an example for self employment in Fashion Designing sector in India and Gujarat NIFT and NIFD in which students should get admission, complete their studies and independently handle the boutique. As per-school and crash management subject was disliked by the students, there was decrease in the number of students. According to demand for the same, from June 1996 technical group computer science class was started. In March 1998 first batch of computer science students gave H.S.C exam.

Increasing population of city and coming from different provinces and students of std 10^th English medium, due to difficulty arising in admission in the 11^th was started in English medium ( General Stream ). In March 1998 the first batch of English medium of higher secondary section gave H.S.C exam. Due to the difficulty of admitting students of standard 10^th Gujarati medium to science stream and demand of guardians , a class of non-granted science stream was started in 2004 in higher secondary section. The first batch of science stream gave H.S.C exam in 2006.

So our school continued to grow like a tree. In October 2006, Mrs. Smitaben Desai retired. In November 2006 Mrs. Sitaben Patel served as the in-charge principal and in July 2007 she was appointed as principal. Thus, our school started with 2 classes, 66 students and 4 teachers. But today we have 29 classes of Gujarati medium and 13 classes of English medium, which provides education to 2763 students. Today in our school we have 83 staff members including teaching staff, non-teaching staff, non-granted, permanent and adhok teachers.

On the auspicious day of 15^th May 1907 Vanita Vishram, an institution for girls was established.  In the year 1961, Sir V.D.T. Girls’ High School came into existence with 66 students. In which, in the year 1995 Non-Granted English Medium Commerce section was started.With passage of time  Sir V.D.T. Girls’ High School (Self Finance)  in year 2016 was formed as separate unit with new index number(18.0638).

Today, Sir V.D.T. Girls’ High School (SF) is imparting good quality of education to 1000 girls.  The school is glorifying an art of actual life learning& leading them towards the path of Women Empowerment. The school is becoming a huge tree of nurturing, educating and preparing girl students in various streams like Commerce (EM & GM) & Science (EM & GM).

VIOS : 

VIOS facilitates education through the MHRD established Board NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling). VIOS is a Vanita Vishram managed organization established in the year 2018. In the secondary and higher secondary department with full time preparation, students can get school education and realize their dreams without any upper age barrier. VIOS strives for the holistic development of the student in such way that a student reaches new heights of success.
